Abstract
In the first talk, Weather and Climate Prediction: History and Current Challenges, I will provide a historical account of progress in weather and climate prediction and establish the background for understanding the challenges that remain today. In the second talk, Weather and Climate Prediction: Ensemble Method and Other Means, I will introduce the principal tools and approaches used to address these challenges, with particular emphasis on ensemble forecasting.
